SAINTS SWEEP EASTERN NAZARENE AND YORK, 3-0

QUINCY, Mass.- The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team swept Eastern Nazarene and York College, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center at Eastern Nazarene College.

The Lions progress to 3-5 on the season with the outcomes. The Saints improve to 4-4 overall with two wins on the day while the Cardinals sink to 1-4 on the year following a pair of losses.

The Saints established a 1-0 advantage after cruising to a 25-12 win in the first set.

Emmanuel stretched the margin to 2-0 with a 25-18 decision in the second frame.

The Saints captured the third 25-17 to secure their third victory of the year.

In the middle match of the day, Emmanuel cruised past York 3-0. Emmanuel only gave up five points to the Lions in the first frame, taking the set handidly 25-5. The Saints continued to dominate in the second and third frame with matching 25-13 victories. The Saints were led by Gary Randall (Essex Junction, Vt.) and Justyn Schueler (Trumbull, Conn.), combining for 17 kills. Max Gottuso (Long Beach, N.Y.) held the defensive front for EC with 10 digs. 

Looking ahead, Emmanuel College will be traveling to Johnson & Wales University on Friday, February 15th to face Dean College and Nazareth College in back to back afternoon matches.
