REID NAMED GNAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Emmanuel's Jenna Reid was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the last week of the 2009 season.

Emmanuel freshman Jenna Reid was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the last week of the 2009 season. Reid received the honor after posting a huge win over her Johnson & Wales University opponent on October 21st. Reid's win came in the 4th singles position in three sets, 6-4, 0-6, 6-2. The win was the deciding point in the Saints' 5-4 upset victory at Johnson & Wales in the GNAC quarterfinals.

Reid, a native of Lincoln, R.I., was also named to the GNAC All-Conference 2nd Team. She primarily competed in the 4th singles slot for the Saints, but also posted wins at second and third singles this year. Reid finished her freshman collegiate season at 10-4 overall and was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll twice.
