Emmanuel College's Megan Harrington (Leceister, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after an incredible performance in the Saints' 5-4 loss to Emerson. Harrington, a junior on the squad, went undefeated during the week, playing 3rd singles and 2nd doubles for Emmanuel. Harrington's 6-1, 6-0 victory at 3rd singles and her 8-2 win at 2nd doubles helped the Saints to win two of their four match points in the heartbreaking loss to the Lions on September 30th. Harrington is currently 7-1 in singles play this season, winning 6 of her 7 matches at 3rd singles, as well as one at 1st singles. Harrington is currently on a 7-match win streak this season. She is also undefeated at 9-0 in doubles play, having been paired up with four different Emmanuel partners this year. Emmanuel is now 8-2 overall and 3-1 in GNAC play with just four regular season matches remaining. Harrington and the Saints will take on Suffolk University, Albertus Magnus College, and Simmons College in crucial GNAC matches at the beginning of next week.
