The Emmanuel Women's Tennis Team posted another fine season, which took the Saints into the semifinal round of the 2009 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. After winning ten of the program's 14 matches during the regular season, the Saints upset Johnson & Wales University in the opening round of the post-season tournament. Emmanuel then suffered a tough loss to top-ranked Simmons College in the GNAC semifinals. The young squad, which will graduate just one player in May, wrapped up the season with an overall record of 11-5 and a 5-3 mark in conference play. read more

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced its 2009 All-Conference Women's Tennis Team. Emmanuel College placed four standout players on the highly competitive all-conference team. The Saints honored include Taylor Dey (Woodbridge, Conn.), Nory Hayes (Newport, R.I.), Megan Harrington (Leicester, Mass.) and Jenna Reid (Lincoln, R.I.). The four honorees helped lead the Saints to a remarkable 11-5 season, which ended with a loss to Simmons in the GNAC tournament semi-finals last Friday. read more

The Simmons College Women's Tennis Team ended the Saints' season in the semi-finals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon. The top-seeded Sharks upended the 5th-seeded Saints by a score of 8-1. Emmanuel's season closed with an overall record of 11-5 and a GNAC mark of 5-3. Simmons improved to 10-5 on the year and undefeated at 8-0 in GNAC play. The Sharks will now advance to host Suffolk University in the GNAC Championship match. read more
