Two Emmanuel College Softball players received Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) recognition on March 15th, after several strong performances in games played in Florida. Danielle Andruskiwec and Kelly Lloid were named to the GNAC Softball Weekly Honor Roll for their part in helping to lead the Saints to a 3-3 week down south.
Andruskiwec, a senior short-stop from Orange, Connecticut, went 6 for 19 at the plate and returned from the trip with a .316 batting average and a .421 slugging percentage. The 2009 All-Conference selection also racked up a pair of doubles and a .933 fielding percentage, committing just 1 error in her 6 games played.
Lloid, a rookie pitcher from Issaquah, Washington recorded two of the team's three wins over the week. Lloid struck out out 19 of her 84 batters faced. She completed her first collegiate week, throwing twenty innings and recording a 1.80 earned run average.
Emmanuel will take on Wentworth Institute of Technology in a non-conference game played on Sweeney Field this Wednesday night. The Saints will begin conference play this weekend with a home double-header versus Johnson & Wales University on Saturday at noon.
