         <description><![CDATA[The Emmanuel College Softball Team will compete in the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida over the spring break. The Saints are slated to play ten games to open up the 2010 season. Emmanuel will face 9 NCAA opponents and 1 NAIA team. The tough Division III schedule features games beginning on March 7th and running through March 12th. Emmanuel will play two contests each day with one day off in the middle of the week.]]></description>

The turf field will be home to the Saints men's soccer, women's soccer, softball, and club women's lacrosse team. The visiting Saints dropped both games of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC ) twin bill. Norwich edged Emmanuel, 7-5, in the opener and then picked up a 15-5 win in the 5-inning nightcap. With the two wins, Norwich improved to 18-16 overall and 15-6 in the GNAC. The Saints finished up their 2009 campaign with an 11-23 ledger and an 8-16 mark in the conference.]]></description>

Emmanuel took the 5-3 win in the opener and finished the sweep with a 5-1 victory in the nightcap. The games were the final regular season home contests for JWU seniors Sheri Plante (Millbury, Mass.) and Kirsten Griffiths (North Haven, Conn.). With the victories, the Saints have now reached double figures in wins and have more than tripled their win total from last season. Suffolk then scored seven runs in the first three innings of the nightcap to come away with a 7-4 win in game two.
