2009 SEASON IN REVIEW

The Emmanuel Women's Soccer Team wrapped up another successful season in 2009, reaching the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship game and making the program's second Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament appearance. The Saints finished as the second place team in the GNAC with a 9-2-1 regular season ledger. Receiving the #2 seed in the GNAC post-season tournament, Emmanuel cruised past 7th-seeded Albertus Magnus and 6th-seeded Saint Joseph (CT) with back-to-back shut out wins. Emmanuel was upset in double-overtime in the GNAC Championship game by 5th-seeded Simmons College, 2-1. This was the Saints' second-straight overtime loss in the GNAC title game, as Emmanuel fell to Norwich University, 2-1, in overtime in 2008. read more

Kate McKenna, ECAC New England 1st Team All-Star

POST-SEASON HONORS PILE UP FOR McKENNA

As the 2009 women's soccer season came to a close, Emmanuel's Kate McKenna received numerous accolades, including local, district and regional recognition. McKenna, Emmanuel's top-scorer this season and the second leading scorer in program history, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Player of the Year, as well as being chosen to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team. McKenna's most recent honor is a spot on the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England All-Star Team. read more

SAINTS WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUT OUT BY MCLA IN ECACs

The fifth-seeded Emmanuel Women's Soccer Team fell to fourth-seeded Mass College of Liberal Arts, 3-0, on Wednesday afternoon in an ECAC Quarterfinal game at MCLA's Shewcraft Field. With the win, MCLA moves to 15-5 and will take play the top-seeded Judges of Brandeis University in the ECAC Semifinals. Emmanuel College wrapped up the 2009 season at 14-7-1. read more
