LAWS NAMED SAINTS WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH

The Emmanuel College is pleased to announce the hiring of Amanda Laws as the Saints Women's Varsity Lacrosse Coach. Laws will be the head coach for the new Emmanuel program as it begins its inaugural season of varsity competition in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference during the 2010-2011 season. Laws will also coach the team at the club level during the 2009-2010 season, as it prepares for varsity play next year. read more

EMMANUEL LACROSSE TEAMS TO PLAY ON RENOVATED CLEMENTE FIELD

Emmanuel College has established a partnership with the City of Boston to upgrade Roberto Clemente Field, a city-owned field located across the street from the Emmanuel College campus. This comprehensive restoration will result in a brand-new facility that will benefit the Fenway neighborhood and Boston Public Schools, as well as serve as the new home field location for Boston Latin School and Emmanuel College athletic teams. The newly renovated field will serve as both a practice and home field site for several of Emmanuel's varsity athletic teams, including the men's and women's soccer teams, the softball team, and the newly added men's and women's lacrosse teams. read more

EMMANUEL TO LAUNCH VARSITY WOMEN'S LACROSSE IN 2011

Emmanuel College will sponsor Women's Varsity Lacrosse in 2011. This new athletic program will be the 16th varsity sport for the college, after the addition of men's varsity golf this fall. Director of Athletics, Pam Roecker, is excited to announce the new program, which will compete at the club level during the 2009-2010 season. Competing as a club team will assist the young program in preparing for varsity competition, which will take place during the 2010-2011 academic year. The search for a new head coach for the women's lacrosse program is currently underway. According to Roecker, "The decision to add varsity women's lacrosse has been a very exciting one for the college and the athletic department." The Saints will call the new turf at Roberto Clemente Field home for their spring season, which lasts from February through April. read more
