The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Team rebounded from last week's loss at Wesleyan to defeat Endicott College, 78-60, in Saturday's home non-conference match-up. Sophomore guard Iman Davis (Toms River, NJ) pumped in 18 points, dished out 7 assists, pulled down 7 rebounds, and tallied 7 steals in Emmanuel's win. Senior guard Jade Paez (Bronx, NY) hit for 18 points, including netting 4 of 9 three-point attempts. Senior forward Maura Mooney (Essex Junction, VT) came off the bench to chip in 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting. Freshman guard Kristin LeBel (Tolland, CT) hit 2 long range three-pointers and totaled 9 points in the win.
The Saints' defense forced 35 Endicott turnovers. Emmanuel capitalized, scoring 33 points off of the Gulls' turnovers. The Saints out-rebounded the Gulls, 46-42. Junior guard Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, NH) accounted for much of the Gulls' offense, scoring 20 points, including hitting 6 of 8 attempts from the line.
With this win, Emmanuel improved to 6-3 on the season, while Endicott fell to 3-4. The Saints will travel to Beijing, CHINA over the winter break and will play three games overseas. Emmanuel's opponents include Beijing Sports University, Tsinghua University, and Beijing University.
