New Haven, CT - Sophomore guard Iman Davis (Toms River, NJ) poured in 27 points in just 20 minutes of play to lead the visiting Saints to a 92-65 win over Albertus Magnus College in GNAC women's basketball action on Tuesday night. Davis hit 9 of 19 attempts from the floor and connected on all 8 of her free throw attempts, while pulling down 5 rebounds and collecting 4 steals.
Emmanuel improved to 8-4 on the season and 2-0 in GNAC play, while Albertus Magnus fell to 6-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference. Senior guard Brittany Bushman (Portsmouth, NH) hit for 12 points and tallied 6 steals, while senior guard Jacque Pannell (Bloomfield, CT) netted 11 points in the win. Senior point guard Jade Paez (Bronx, NY) chipped in with 10 points, including 2 three-pointers.
The Saints jumped out to an early lead and took a 44-26 advantage into halftime. The Saints increased their lead by 9 points in the 2nd half and took home a 92-65 victory. Despite committing 36 fouls and sending the Falcons to the line 50 times, Emmanuel rattled off 25 steals and forced 43 Falcon turnovers. Freshman guard Casey Shevlin (Medford, NY) played well defensively for Emmanuel, accumulating 5 steals in the win.
Emmanuel will travel to Salem, MA on Thursday night (1/17) took take on the Vikings of Salem State College in a 6pm start.
