The top-seeded Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team defeated the 8th-seeded Cadets of Norwich University, 66-54, in the quarterfinals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament played in the Jean Yawkey Center on Tuesday night.

The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Team completed the 2012 regular season with another perfect run in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play, topping Mount Ida College, 75-55, on Saturday afternoon.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROUTS PINE MANOR, 89-42

The Saints cruise to the GNAC win with four starters in double-figures

AS A FRESHMAN...Johnson started in 17 of 26 games played for the Saints...was the team's 6th leading scorer and 3rd leading rebounder with 5.2 points and 3.5 points per game...totaled 135 points, 92 rebounds, 16 assists and 10 steals...was 2nd on the team in blocked shots with a total of 36 in her rookie season...helped the Saints to a 21-8 overall record, an undefeated GNAC mark (12-0), the program's 13th GNAC Championship and 16th NCAA Tournament appearance.

BEFORE EMMANUEL...Johnson was a four-year player and two-year starter on the varsity team at Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse, N.Y.)...started her junior and senior seasons...captained the team as a senior...led her team to back-to-back conference championships as a junior and senior...named Time Warner M.V.P., Athlete of the Week and received three honorable mentions...also participated in outdoor track & field for three seasons, field hockey for one year and tennis for one year in high school.
