MEN'S VOLLEYBALL RANKED 12TH NATIONALLY IN PRE-SEASON POLL

Jan. 12, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky - The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its 2012 preseason poll on Tuesday afternoon, ranking the top 15 Division III teams in the country heading into the upcoming season.  Emmanuel College snagged the 12th spot, which is the highest the Saints have ever been ranked in a preseason poll.

Emmanuel is coming off the best season in program history, which featured the Saints winning a program-record 28 matches and advancing to the 2nd round of the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Tournament.  A highly touted top-notch recruiting class of ten freshmen will compliment the seven experienced veterans, who return for the 2012 campaign.

The Saints are challenged with an extremely competitive schedule this season, which includes matches with at least five other opponents ranked among the top 15.  Emmanuel will open the season with a home match vs. No. 2 Springfield College on February 1st, before traveling out to Springfield to take on the Pride on their home court three days later.
