AS A JUNIOR...Sutherland transferred in to Emmanuel after spending one semester at Boston University and a year and a half at California State University Chico...played in 19 matches for the Saints...totaled 60 digs and recorded a .966 receiving percentage in 2010...named to both the NECVA All-Academic Team and to the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team... helped the Saints to a program-best 27 wins, including making a trip to the GNAC Finals and to the NECVA Tournament.

AS A SOPHOMORE...Sutherland attended California State University Chico in 2009.

AS A FRESHMAN...Sutherland attended Boston University for the first semester and California State University Chico for the second semester of his freshman year.

BEFORE EMMANUEL...Sutherland was a two-year player on the varsity team at Concord High School (Concord, Calif.)...started at opposite as a junior and libero as a senior...named Scholar Athlete of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2007...played for Diablo Valley Volleyball Club...also played high school tennis.
