EMMANUEL MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SEASON PREVIEW

The Saints, who were ranked 12th nationally in the AVCA preseason poll, are coming off the best season in program history and return seven veterans from last year's record-setting team.

AS A JUNIOR...Mottola played in 14 matches...led the Saints in hitting with a .389 percentage...notched 20 kills in 36 swings...recorded 24 digs, 5 service aces and 3 blocks...helped the Saints set their second consecutive program-record for wins in a season, as Emmanuel went 28-9 and advanced to the NECVA Tournament for the third-straight year.

AS A SOPHOMORE...Mottola played in 20 matches for the Saints...tallied 62 kills, hitting .221 for the season...totaled 39 digs, 18 service aces and 9 total blocks... helped the Saints to a program-best 27 wins, including making a trip to the GNAC Finals and to the NECVA Tournament.

AS A FRESHMAN...Mottola played in 23 matches for the Saints...totaled 36 kills, 33 digs and 21 service aces... helped Emmanuel to a 19-13 overall record and a 9-3 GNAC mark, including a trip to the GNAC Finals and to the NECVA Tournament.

...Mottola was a two-sport athlete at Quincy High School (Quincy, Mass.), playing football and volleyball...was a four-year starter and three-time team captain on the varsity volleyball team...named a league all-star three times...played Beantown Volleyball for two years...led his Bay State Games Team to a Scholastic Division Gold Medal.
