The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that Emmanuel's Curtis Abram has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Volleyball Division III National Player of the Week. Abram, a 6'2 junior outside hitter from San Luis Obispo, California, is only the second athlete from Emmanuel to ever receive National Player of the Week accolades. Abram earned the award for his efforts in propelling the Saints to a 6-0 week, including victories over three teams ranked in the top-ten of the AVCA Men's Division III Coaches Top 15 Poll. read more

The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball Team wrapped up an unprecedented week, which included wins over three top-ten teams, setting a new program-record for wins in a season, and an undefeated run at the MIT Invitational Tournament. After knocking off #6 Rivier College on Tuesday and #10 Milwaukee School of Engineering on Thursday, the Saints (21-7) won four matches at the MIT Invitational, including a 3-1 win over #5 Carthage College. Emmanuel's wins over the weekend set a new program-record for wins in a season, as the Saints now own their first-ever 20-win season. read more

The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball Team downed its second top-ten team of the week on Thursday night, knocking off Milwaukee School of Engineering, 3-2. The non-conference match was a five-set battle, in which the Saints outlasted the 10th-ranked Engineers in a nail-biting 17-15 fifth set. A 37-35 Raider win in set one, led to back-to-back Emmanuel wins (30-25, 30-27) in the second and third games. The visitors took set four, 30-23, before Emmanuel nipped MSOE in the fifth. With the win, Emmanuel improved to 17-7 overall, while MSOE dropped to 7-10 on the season. Both teams will play this weekend in the MIT Invitational Tournament. read more
