Emmanuel College's Kevin Shirley was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week ending on October 10th. Shirley's honor came after the freshman forward helped lead the Saints to the program's first-ever win over Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon. The Madison, Connecticut native netted a goal and dished out an assist in Emmanuel's 3-0 shut-out win over the Wildcats. Shirley, who has started in all 13 of Emmanuel's games this season, now has 4 goals and an assist for 9 total points in his first collegiate season.
