CORDERO PACES GOLF AT ELMS SPRING INVITATIONAL

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The Emmanuel College golf team combined to shoot a 349 on Monday afternoon at the Elms College Blazer Spring Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club. The Saints placed ninth overall in the 11 team field as Trinity College cruised to the overall team win with a 300 behind a co-medalist rounds of 72 from Will Rosenfield and Taylor Kay-Green.

EC junior Colin Cordero (Bolton, Conn.) paced the Saints with a team-low of 84 with nine pars and playing the par fives even during the round. Freshman Jack Scavone (Auburn, Mass.) was one storke behind Cordero with an 85 while fellow rookie Taylor Kieselback (Simsbury, Conn.) was next in the club house with an 89.

Sophomore David Bryne (Newport, R.I.) and Anthony Springthorpe (Swampscott, Mass.) rounded out the Saints scores, each shooting a 91 on the afternoon. The round for Bryne was his season debut after missing the fall with a broken wrist.

The Saints return eight golfers for the 2017-18 campaign and will tee-off again in September.
