(2/21/17) -- The Lasell College men’s basketball team surged ahead at the most important time in Tuesday night’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) quarterfinal contest, scoring six points in the final two minutes for a 76-74 win over Emmanuel College in the Athletic Center.

    PROVIDENCE, RI. – Joe Tamburro made a layup with nine second remaining in overtime to lift visiting Emmanuel College to an 87-86 victory over the Johnson & Wales University men’s basketball. The Saints overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to prevail 87-86 on Saturday.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Norwich University men’s basketball team held on for an 83-78 Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over host Emmanuel College Thursday evening at the Andy Yosinoff Court. The Cadets trailed the majority of the first half to rally for the road win and improve to 8-16 overall and 5-12 in GNAC action.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior forward Jaqhawn Walters (Hartford, Conn.) scored a career-high 34 points to go along with a career-high tying 23 rebounds to power the Albertus Magnus College men’s basketball team past Emmanuel College, 93-82, Tuesday evening at the Andy Yosinoff Court in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action play. Walters also netted his 1,000th career point in the win as the Falcons improve to 19-4 overall and 15-2 in GNAC play while the loss drops the Saints to 7-19 and 6-10.

    NEWTON, Mass. – Behind a commanding first half, the Lasell men’s basketball team topped the visiting Saints of Emmanuel College, 95-76, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Saturday afternoon inside the Athletic Center. The Lasers improve to 15-8 overall and 12-4 in the conference, while the Saints snap a four game win-streak and dip to 7-15 this season and 6-9 in the GNAC.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The senior trio of Julian Diggs (Centerville, Va.), Matt Raine (Miami, Fla.) and Aidan Hadley (Owls Head, Maine) came up big on senior day combining for 36 points and 27 rebounds to power Emmanuel College past Suffolk University, 56-54, Saturday afternoon at the Andy Yosinoff Court. The Saints improve to 7-14 overall and 6-8 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action while the loss dips the Rams to 6-15 and 5-9.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Seeking its fifth Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship in six years, the Albertus Magnus College men’s basketball team received six first-place votes and 96 points to take the top spot in the 2016-17 GNAC Preseason Poll, as voted upon by the league’s 10 head coaches. Emmanuel ranked sixth overall in the poll.

The Saints fall in their season-opener for the fifth consecutive year to fall to 0-1 while the Gators jump out to a 1-0 record.
