EMMANUEL HOSTS 7TH ANNUAL SAINTS CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

The Emmanuel women finished fourth and the men placed fifth in the 7th Annual Saints Cross Country Invitational on Friday night.

AS A SOPHOMORE...Smajic was once again a top-five finisher for Emmanuel as a sophomore...competed in all seven of the Saints' meets during the season...ran his fastest time of the year at the Saints Invitational, when he ran 29-flat...ran a time of 29:23 to place third for the Saints and lead Emmanuel to a 2nd-place team finish at the GNAC Championship.

AS A FRESHMAN...Smajic competed in seven meets for the Saints as a rookie...was a consistent top-five finisher throughout the year...ran his personal best in the NCAA Regionals with a time of 29:25...was named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll twice on 9/12/09 and again on 9/28/09... helped the Saints to a 4th place team finish in the GNAC Championship...also competed in Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field for the Saints.

BEFORE EMMANUEL...Smajic ran cross country for one year and participated in track for two years at Revere High School (Revere, Mass.).
