The Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams opened up their seasons on Saturday in Middletown, CT by competing at the Wesleyan University Invitational. The young Saints team had some promising performances from several new team members. The men's 4 x 200m relay team of sophomore Kevin Ly (Portland, ME), sophomore Robert Littleton (Plymouth, MA), freshman Alex Lucier (Northbridge, MA), and freshman Sahib Hobby (New Haven, CT) broke the school record with a time of 1:40.77. Kevin Ly just missed the school record in the 55m with a time of 6.91. Alex Lucier tied the school record in the high jump with a 5'5.25 leap. Freshman Ryan Maher (Gales Ferry, CT) just missed making the finals in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.57
On the women's side, junior Christine Gaspar (Attleboro, MA) finished 4th in the 5k with a strong 19:58 performance. Junior Cat Lariviere (Windham, NH) returned to action after missing the end of the cross country season with 6th place finish in the 3k (11:33.61). Newcomer Ashley Adamson (Scituate, MA) finished 6th in the 55m hurdles in her first meet in two years. Sophomores Megan Reichel (Mashpee, MA) and Sarah Soldano (Bethel, CT) finished 7th and 9th respectively in the high jump. Both the men's and women's teams will compete next Saturday (12/8) in the Harvard University Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10am.
