NORTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams competed in Wheaton College's Invitational meet on Saturday afternoon. The Saints fared well in their fourth meet of the indoor season. The Emmanuel team posted two New England Division III qualifying performances and several individual athletes' personal bests.

Receiving notable recognition was the individual performance of Irene Limlengco (Brookline, Mass.) in the high jump and the team performance of the women's 4x200 meter relay crew, consisting of Simone Ford (White Plains, N.Y.), Katasi Kulubya (Anaheim, Calif.), Limlengco, and Nathalie Victoria (Brockton, Mass.). All four athletes have qualified for the New England Division III Championships in their respective events. Limlengco placed 5th overall in the high jump with her qualifying and personal best leap of 5'0.25" She also joined up with Ford, Kylubya and Victoria for a 4th place finish and school record-breaking time of 1:51.72 in the 4x200 meter relay.

Victoria also achieved her personal best in both the 200 meters, finishing 3rd with a time of 28.17, and the 55 meters with a time of 7.91. Laura McNulty (Attleboro, Mass.) ran her personal best in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 10.07, while Brittany Sorice (Dover, N.H.) and Caitlyn Dacosta (North Reading, Mass.) ran their best times in the 400 meters, running 63.96 and 67.84, respectively.

The 800 meter race featured three personal best performances by Emmanuel women. Julie Young (Derry, N.H.) led the way with a time of 2:34.31. Maureen Kellet (Westborough, Mass.) ran the race in 2:53.57, while Marissa Keegan (North Easton, Mass.) posted her fastest time at 3:16.13. Stephanie Gomes 5k time was also a best on the day, as she ran her race in 22:20.47.

On the men's side, the 4x200 meter relay team of Dan D'Amato (Huntington, Mass.), Rob Littleton (Plymouth, Mass.), Mark Dougherty (Methuen, Mass.) and James Ferdenzi (Holliston, Mass.) placed 6th with a time of 1:39.77. Dougherty also ran his personal best in the 200 meters, with a time of 25.26.

Senior Doug Gillum (West Boylston, Mass.) threw his furthest ever in the shot put, a throw of 29'3.75". Jordan Coulombe (Saco, Maine) notched a personal best in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.77, while Patrick Froass (Oneida, N.Y.) ran his best 55 meter race at 7.55.

On the long distance side, Alen Smajic (Revere, Mass.) ran the fastest 5k of his indoor career with a time of 17:09.27. Maurizio Turco (Revere, Mass.) posted his best 1-mile time at 4:50.82. Wesley Cowles (Hebron, Conn.) ran his best 400-meter time at 54:16, while Ben Cleveland (Auburn, Maine) ran a great 800 meter race, finishing with his best-ever time of 2:05.97.

Emmanuel will compete again this Saturday (1/30) in Gorham, Maine. The Saints will be competing in the University of Southern Maine's Invitational meet beginning at 12pm.
