The Emmanuel College Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Teams returned to action after the winter break by competing in the Tufts University Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

TRACK TEAMS TURN UP THE HEAT AT BRANDEIS' POYAU INVITATIONAL

While the Emmanuel men finished 6th of eight teams and the women placed 7th of 8, Emmanuel athletes recorded four New England Division III Championship qualifying performances, a new program record in the weight throw and twenty-one personal bests on the track and in the field events.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-10): Earned the Emmanuel "Academic Achievement Award" and was named the men's team's, "Most Valuable Player"...named to the GNAC academic all-conference team...set a new school record in indoor track for the high jump (5'11.25" on Feb. 13) and in the pentathalon (2,651 point on Jan. 9).

BEFORE EMMANUEL: Three-sport athlete in high school...qualified for states in the high jump and hurdles...hurdle relay team qualified for Nationals...earned scholastic honors.
