ATHLETES SERVE ON ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK

March 9, 2010

Emmanuel College's Campus Ministry Office has sponsored the college's annual "Alternative Spring Break" trips. The 2010 community service will take place from March 6th-March 13th in three different locations within the United State, including: New Orleans, Louisiana, Wheeling, West Virginia, and Phoenix, Arizona. Nine Emmanuel College student-athletes have been commissioned and will take part in the 2010 Alternative Spring Break.

Emmanuel's Director of Athletics Pam Roecker commented, "As a department, I am pleased to say that all of our 15 varsity teams participate in a variety of community service activities throughout the school year on an annual basis.  However, these nine student-athletes, who have dedicated their spring break to service, take this effort to another level!  Emmanuel College has a strong and clear mission in social consciousness and community service and these student-athletes, along with our other students and staff members on these alternative spring break trips, are exemplifying that mission this week.  We are very proud of them all!"
